Congratulations to our dance instructors Denis Kojinov and Jeanette Chevalier on once again becoming National Champions! They placed 1st in Senior Championship 10-Dance at 2025 USA Dance Nationals last weekend in Pittsburgh. Ten-dance is a difficult category that is judged on results of 5 Ballroom and 5 Latin dances. Great Job!
According to USA Dance website “USA Dance Inc is the National Governing Body for DanceSport in the United States and with more than 150 chapters throughout the country. For DanceSport, USA Dance Inc is the official member organization of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the U.S. member of the world governing organization, the World DanceSport Federation (called the WDSF), which is the official global member organization of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).”
Once a year USA Dance organizes National DanceSport Championships where National Champions are being selected. Champions are then nominated to represent United States at World Championships. In order to qualify for Nationals dancers must participate and qualify at regional events. According to Rulebook, to qualify, dancers must be in top 50% of their field. In addition, in order to be considered for 10-dance category, dancer must qualify and compete in both Championship Standard and Championship Latin divisions.
USA Dance National Championships are regularly adjudicated by a prestigious panel of experts in the field of DanceSport of highly qualified judges, including former National and World Champions.
Denis and Jeanette are members are members of USA Dance National Team and will be representing United States at WDSF World 10-dance Championships held in September in Portugal. Good luck!
