Child pre-DanceSport for boys and girls 4-7 years old (Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm)
***NEW CLASS** This pre-DanceSport dance class is for children that plan to learn more Latin and Ballroom dance, however are still quite young or have not had much dance experience before. In this dance class children learn basics of movement, coordination and balance using fun steps taken from modern, hip hop, ballet and other forms of dance. We also work extensively on balance and musicality which will become more important in the future when your child starts learning formal Latin and Ballroom dance. This a very fun and energetic class.
Class dress code for girls: burgundy leotard, burgundy opague dance skirt, skin tone tights and tan colored ballet shoes. Boys dress code: black dance or sweat pants and black t-shirt or shirt.

Why "pre" DanceSport?
This class is designed to be an introduction to Ballroom and Latin dancing for very young children ages 4-7 years old. At this age children need to work on their basics of movement, balance and rhythm. Those qualities are necessary for children to later be able to advance to next class Child and Teen DanceSport: Latin and Ballroom (Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00pm).
Ballroom dancing is a beautiful dance form, however, it requires some basic level of coordination and musicality. Therefore young children that would like to continue learning Latin and Ballroom dancing need some starter class where they can learn simple things such as how to count music, how to step, how to step with music, how to remember simple steps.
What dances will you be teaching in this class?
There are 10 dances in DanceSport: 5 Ballroom dances and 5 Latin dances. So there is aaaaloooot to learn. However, with beginner children we normally start with some non-ballroom music and dances. This way they can train to recognize music and perform simple steps. Then we introduce basic steps from Waltz, Rumba and ChaCha. Those are staple DanceSport dances that create solid base for your child's future development. In this pre-DanceSport group dance class we do a lot solo work so that children can properly learn steps and corresponding technique. We start with very basics and pay attention to children's progress.

How do we register for Child pre-DanceSport class?
You can register for Children's Ballroom and Latin dance classes in several ways. Follow the link on this page and register online. You can also stop by the studio and register in person. This will give you an opportunity to see our facility.
How much dance classes cost?
Monthly cost for Child pre-DanceSport Dance class is $129. The price includes 1 month of dance classes that are held two day per week, Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm.
Should I expect extra fees?
We do not have registration fees. However, you will need to supply your young dancer with appropriate dance attire such as dance shoes, proper clothing for class and any costumes required for Holiday Showcase. There will also be additional costs if you choose for your child to participate in dance competitions.
Is there a fee for Holiday Showcase?
There is no fee for your child to participate in the Holiday Dance Showcase. However, there may be costuming cost involved, depending on what we decide to do for Showcase. Family members are required to purchase tickets to watch the showcase.
